Manager of Database Development 12/2000-
TargetRx Inc., Horsham, PA

Architecting and implementing database and J2EE solutions for the company's market research web site and internal systems. Designed registration database and built EJBs and stored procedures implementing core business logic. Designed and developed data model, user interface, scheduling and backend processing for batch generation of cross-tabs and graphs based on collected survey data. All development was done using Java, XML and SQLJ with Oracle and BEA WebLogic on a Sun Solaris platform. Modeling tools used were Together and ERwin. Providing installation, upgrades and support for development and production WebLogic servers on both Solaris and Windows.

Manager of Database Development/DBA/Developer 4/2000-12/2000
Capita Research Group, Blue Bell, PA

Responsible for selecting, installing and administering database and web servers as well as all development tools needed to support the database and software development efforts. Started the process of defining the company's data model and system architecture. Developed stand-alone and web-based Java applications for tracking and reporting on market research studies. Database software was Oracle 8i on RedHat Linux and development was done using Java and Apache Tomcat.

Designed and developed CRM and data mart solutions for the company’s corporate clients. Provided DBA support for internal Oracle and SQL Server databases. Started as a Sr. Programmer/Analyst developing enterprise transaction processing systems on IBM mainframe using COBOL and CICS. Lead the move to PC-based development and client/server development, and took on the responsibilities associated with database administration.

Major Assignments:

• Data modeler for a marketing database project for PECO Energy using ERwin as the modeling tool. Target database platforms were Oracle and MS SQL Server.

• DBA and developer on a data mart project for Bell South. Installed and configured Oracle database software and Harte-Hanks IRE on Sun Solaris servers. Responsible for designing the physical data model using ERwin. Developed procedures for initial load and monthly refresh of data mart.

• DBA and developer for a new reporting system for SouthTrust Bank. Installed Microsoft SQL Server and developed monthly load procedures for data refresh. Developed an on-line query and reporting interface for end users. System was developed using Visual Basic.

• Designed and developed a marketing database and contact management system for Independence Blue Cross. System was developed using FoxPro.

• Designed and developed a marketing database system for American Medical Association using Microsoft SQL Server and FoxPro as the front-end interface.

• Designed and developed a reporting and query tool for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois. System was refreshed monthly with data from mainframe systems used for healtcare insurance application and commission processing and . System was developed using FoxPro.

• Designed and developed on-line system for healthcare insurance application and issue processing. System was developed for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois using IBM CICS and COBOL.

• Developed PC based applications using dBASE, FoxPro and Clipper for several marketing and public relations companies.

• Developed conversion software to transfer savings accounts from Girard Bank's system to the system used by Mellon Bank. System was developed in COBOL and IMS DL/1.

Participated as programmer/analyst in IBM MVS Mainframe projects for banking, insurance and manufacturing clients.
